POLICE are out in force at the traveller's site in Moses Gate, just days after carrying out a raid.
The site has been subject to a number of police operations in recent weeks.
Police have been contacted for a response.
Emergency vehicles were lined up outside the Gypsy and Traveller Site in Hall Lane, near to Moses Gate Country Park, and a helicopter was also scrambled.
It is understood police were carrying out a search of the campsite.
One resident who didn't want to be named said: "I saw the police at 3pm and there were a lot more police than there were the other day.
"They told me they had been at the site for an hour."
The man, who was driving to Little Lever, said: "There have been two raids this week, there was one on Friday.
"It is getting out of hand, it is beyond a joke.
"How much are the raids costing, every time they get the helicopter, what does that cost, and it has been out twice and then we have all the police out — this is people's money.
"Something needs to be done."
Last month police arrested three people after officers from the Tactical Aid Unit searched the camp
Three vehicles were recovered by police during the search - a Volvo, a Vauxhall and a Ford Transit van.
