Bolton-based beauty brand counts Dame Joan Collins among its fans

Bolton-based Lady Showbiz is an ethically-conscious beauty brand currently specialising in nail products and skincare.

It was founded by beauty expert and entrepreneur Karen Yates, who wanted to create a brand with high-quality products at affordable prices.

The products are distributed from Earls Farm in Harwood.

Despite launching in a pandemic, the brand has already developed a cult following.

Actress Dame Joan Collins is reportedly a fan of the gel effect nail varnish, while Renee Zellweger is said to use the brand.

Supporting charities is something Karen is passionate and 20per cent of the brand's net profits are donated to various charities.

Lady Showbiz has recently donated to Bolton charity the Endeavour Project, which supports those affected by domestic abuse, and Karen is a guardian for BackUp and patron ambassador to Bolton Hospice.

Karen said: "The aim of the brand is to inspire and empower those who are wearing the products.

"I want them to feel that they can do anything and deal with whatever life throws at them.

"It was important for me to create a product that is cruelty-free and they are vegan too; I do not see why brands need to test on animals.

"It was tough launching a business at the start if lockdown, I had a launch party prepared with social media influencers but it all had to be cancelled.

"But I was delighted when I heard that Dame Joan Collins uses our nail varnish - sales have soared since this was mentioned in an article.

"Renee Zellweger is said to use our products, while celebrity nail technician Stephanie Staunton - whose clients include Helena Bonham Carter - is a fan too.

"It's very exciting and I have plans for more product ranges in the future."
