A BOLTON man has completed an epic 400-mile walk to support Dementia UK.
Pub landlord Dan Latham, 33, is originally from Breightmet but now lives on the Isles of Scilly.
Following the death of his grandmother Vera Latham in February, he decided to cover the distance from Bolton to the Isles of Scilly in her memory, in order to raise money for the charity.
He started his challenge in the last week of February and completed it on March 31.
Dan is delighted to have met his target of 400 miles, and says the experience has been so positive that he is already thinking about further fundraising challenges he could take on in the future. He has also raised more than £1,880 for the charity, which is almost double his original fundraising target of £1,000.
“I’m over the moon with that,” said Dan. “To be honest I didn’t really know what to expect but I’ve nearly doubled my target.”
