A DISPUTE over pay could be close at being resolved after talks resumed shortly after workers at a long-standing Bolton firm walked out.
Workers at Booth Industries staged strike action yesterday, the first of four planned walk-outs.
But talks resumed on Thursday afternoon, and it is understood both parties are close to reaching a deal.
Shop steward Sean McMyler told The Bolton News: "Constructive talks took place all afternoon.
"We have reached an agreement which needs to be endorsed by the members and voted for on Monday.”
A spokesperson for Booth Industries said: “Talks continued yesterday afternoon in a constructive manner and we remain hopeful of resolving the situation over the coming days.”
Booth Industries, which is based on Nelson Street, manufactures industrial doors and modular walls for customers across the defence, security, nuclear and infrastructure sectors.
It was bought by Stainless Metalcraft, part of Avingtrans Plc, following the collapse of its previous owner Redhall Group in June 2019.
It has a site in Tonge Moor.
