Dear Style Rehab
I want to buy my boyfriend a hat as a stocking filler for Christmas but I just don't know what to get him.
He hasn't got one at the minute but he complains his ears are cold when he is out at the football.
Is there a specific type I should go for. What's in fashion?
Amanda, Bolton
Now think carefully. Is he a beanie man? Thats a hat that's quite plain and just fits snug on the head - think David Beckham!
If so then just pop on down to any boys shop - and i mean any. Burtons, Topman, and erm... did I say Burtons? The supermarkets also stock ranges of menswear so check out Asda, Tesco and Sainsbury's to hunt one out. They come in all colours and vary in price so you'll be sure to find one in your budget.
However, If he has a bit more creativity in him than that then try this faux fur trapper hat from John Rocha at Debenhams. It's just £15 and will ensure your man stays warm on the terraces with those handy ear warmers.
If your guy is a bit more Indie, Rock and Roll, or just plain geeky/student-like then go for the classic bobble hat. This black and grey festive pattern one from Topman at £10 is not too garish yet it has true bobble star quality - think Alex Turner from the Arctic Monkeys for this look.
Most of all don't be offended if he doesn't like it - i hear you girl - men are way harder to buy for than girls. End of.
Good luck and Merry Christmas
