A MAN has been arrested on suspicion of helping a 55-year-old woman to die by assisted suicide in Farnworth.
Police officers were called to a property on Brookhouse Avenue last Sunday, to a report of the sudden death of a woman.

Emergency services attended and she was pronounced dead at the scene.
Neighbours later said they had loud noises coming from the property.
An investigation has now been launched to determine the woman's cause of death.

A GMP spokesman said: "A 28-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of assisted suicide and released under investigation pending further enquiries.
"Enquiries are ongoing to determine the cause of her death."
