Brookhouse Avenue
POLICE are investigating the "sudden death" of a woman in Farnworth.
Officers were called to an address in Brookhouse Avenue early on Sunday February 21.
A 55-year-old woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
An investigation has now been launched to determine the woman's cause of death.
A spokesman for Greater Manchester Police said: "Officers were called around 2.30am on Sunday, February 21 to Brookhouse Avenue, Farnworth to a report of the sudden death of a woman.
"Emergency services attended and a 55-year-old woman was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.
"Enquiries are ongoing to determine the cause of her death."
