ROTARIANS are hosting a competition giving voluntary groups the chance to win up to £750.

The Rotary Club of Bolton with Le Moors wants groups to pitch their best ideas in a Dragons’ Den style contest.

The group usually meets at Bolton Golf Club but has had to switch to virtual meetings due to the pandemic.

The club wants to see entries that prioritise local need and support for the local activity or facility. It must also benefit locals and could help socially excluded people to take part in community activities.

Entries could come from all kinds of groups and ideally the application should include details of a specific project on which the money will be spent, the Rotary Club said.

The prizes are £750 for the winning entry, £250 for second place and four prizes of £150 each.

Voluntary groups looking to get involved in the competition can contact Rotary club secretary Graham Yardley for application forms and more information on graham_yardley@msn.com or 0161 9413686.

The closing date for applications is March 12 and the competition will be hosted on April 21.
