HAVE you got star entertainers in your house? Or are you a family of stars?
If you have skills of any kind a fun competition launched today aims to showcase them – and you could win prizes!
Bolton Family Fun Stars is run by Bolton Action group and supported by The Bolton News, Bolton FM, the Bolton Family and local businesses.
Many homes across Bolton have youngsters in them who are great at dancing, singing, gymnastics, drama, sports skills or other talents.
You may have a wonderful artist at home or there may be a youngster who has taught clever tricks to the family pet.
Lisa Forshaw from Bolton Action explained: “We know that there are some real stars around in homes across the borough. And they’ve probably honed their skills even more during lockdown.
“We want to see them and share their talents with everyone else.”
Commented Bolton News’ Editor Steve Thompson: “This has been a challenging year for everyone and families have really borne the brunt of the pandemic, especially the children.
“This initiative is a brilliant way to put the smiles back on people’s faces. Bolton’s a highly-talented town so wow us with your videos!”
Welcoming the competition, Greenhalgh’s Craft Bakery MD Mr David Smart stated: “This is a terrific idea to cheer up people during these tough times.
“I know from my own family that there are lots of talented children and adults around so I’m really looking forward to seeing what they can do and joining in the fun.”
Prizes have been donated by Agilisys, Greenhalgh’s, Russell & Russell, KP Financial Wellbeing, Whysup and Roe & Co Residential Sales.
Prizes feature hi-tech must-haves like tablets including a Samsung Galaxy A and Apple Airpods. There are also tickets for a future Bolton Wanderers’ league match and a signed shirt, a hamper of Easter goodies, vouchers for Waterstones, Smyths Toys and Milkmaids’ ice cream and Whysup merchandise.
And every child who enters will receive a heart-shaped shortbread cookie from Greenhalghs.
To enter, all you have to do is take a short video of your children or your family entertaining with their skills and post it on social media, tagging in #BoltonAction. The links are: Facebook @Boltonactionpositiveimpact Instagram @BoltonAction and Twitter @Boltonactionpositive impact
