A BOLTON dad slapped with a fine for breaking quarantine while going to get baby milk has had his fine cancelled.
Bodeane Rostron, 35, was given the £1,000 fine in October after officers visited his Tonge Moor home.
Mr Rostron had returned from an 11-day stay in Turkey on October 4, and was self-isolating at home with fiancee Chloe Brooks,step-daughter Hollie and then seven-month-old son Bodeane.
The family needed to quarantine until October 18, but Mr Rostron said he was forced to leave his home five days early to buy food for his son.

He later received a visit from police, who fined him for breaching self-isolation rules.
But his fine has now been cancelled, with Mr Rostron saying that he is “so glad it is all over.”
In a letter sent to Mr Rostron, the Criminal Records Office said: “The issuing force have reviewed the evidence in relation to this fixed penalty notice and have subsequently made the decision to take no further action. The case is now closed.”
Mr Rostron said: “I feel like I’ve been victimised and let down by the system by doing what’s right for my family. It has now come to our attention about certain delivery services we didn’t know about at the time. But if you ask me would I do it again in a heart beat.
“I did feel very upset. When the police came I was seeing to the baby at the time and because of this I wasn’t given the time of day to explain my reasons for going out.

“They didn’t care and just slapped me with a fine. It was like they didn’t have a care in the world and were very arrogant.
“I feel like a massive weight has been lifted.”
Bodeane added that he would seek compensation for his ordeal, and was looking at ways of going about it.
According to official government advice, anyone arriving in the UK from a country outside of the travel corridor must quarantine for 14 days.

Anyone self-isolating cannot go out to school or visit public areas, and “should not” go shopping.
There are a number of circumstances that are considered acceptable reasons to leave your home, including accessing medical assistance, going to a funeral, or accessing basic necessities when you cannot arrange for them to be delivered.
