EAGLE-eyed viewers watching the powerful drama It's a Sin may have spotted some familiar sights.
Channel 4's critically acclaimed five part series may be set in London — but key scenes were actually filmed in Bolton town centre and Bolton School.
TV crews rolled into Le Mans Crescent to shoot a protest march, with the London skyline superimposed over the background — with St Paul's Cathedral tucked behind the crescent.
School corridors at Bolton School became the corridors of power as it was transformed into the Houses of Parliament for the series with scenes starring Stephen Fry.
Adele Hughes of Bolton School Weddings and Events said: “Bolton School was delighted to be used as a backdrop in the filming of It’s a Sin and to host Stephen Fry, Omari Douglas and the cast.
"With Cold Feet, Get Even and The Stranger all being filmed here in recent years, we are now firmly on the map as a film location. We also have one or two projects lined up for future months but they remain in the planning stage.”

The five-part drama follows a group of young friends who move to London to start a new life.
Penned by Doctor Who writer Russell T Davies, It’s a Sin is a tale of love and loss set against the backdrop of the AIDS pandemic which devastated the gay community through much of the decade.
Filming took place in Bolton from October 2019 – with production teams bringing retro props including vintage cars to the area.
The drama is now showing every Friday at 9pm on Channel 4 or online at All4
