BOLTON boxer Amir Khan has met with Pakistan's Prime Minister Imran Khan to discuss his plans to develop the sport in the country.
The two-time former welterweight world champion set up the The Amir Khan Boxing Academy in Islamabad in 2016 in collaboration with the Pakistan Sports Board (PSB) with the aim of training young pugilists.
“Pakistan is a great country. I really believe in the immense talent that we have here. That’s why I have opened this academy," he said at the time.
The boxer posted pictures and shared a video of him meeting the Pakistani PM and former cricketing all rounder and World Cup winning captain, alongside Mr Khan's Special Assistant on Overseas Pakistanis, Zulfiqar Abbas Bukhari.
According to the Associated Press of Pakistan, the two famous sportsmen "exchanged views about the promotion of sports and the matters relating to social welfare".
The Bolton-born boxer tweeted: "Great meeting with @ImranKhanPTI and @sayedzbukhari We making big moves in pakistan"
