A FIT firefighter ran a marathon around Rivington Pike to raise money for Teenage Cancer Trust.
Amelia Ball has raised over £800 so far.
The challenge took her just under five and a half hours to complete.
She said: “It was a real challenge going up and down, up and down and on the last loop I was ready to get out, but got there.
When she was a youngster, Amelia lost her friend George Easton to cancer.
The 45-year-old, who is a member of Howfen running club, said: “I lost one of my good friends to cancer at a young age and he received care and support from the teenage cancer trust so I wanted to support them.”
Amelia is part of a running group in Westhoughton and her fellow runner and friend from the group supported her as she ran.
She said: “My friend Mark encouraged me a little along the way although he didn’t run the marathon himself.
“Thanks to everyone for their support and donations along the way.”
