BOLTON South East MP Yasmin Qureshi has appealed to the health secretary Matt Hancock to implement the findings of a review into the use of Primodos, a hormone pregnancy test, which is now known to cause miscarriages, heart defects and spinal problems in children.
Opposition leaders have called for the recommendations made following the review into the use of the drug to be implemented including giving those who have suffered as a result better care and support.
An independent review, led by Baroness Cumberlege, declared that children and parents suffered "avoidable harm" from a failure to regulate the dangerous drug — prompting a full apology from the Health Secretary, Matt Hancock.
Now calls are being made for the the review to be acted upon, including by Ms Qureshi, who campaigned on behalf of those who were affected.
Taking to Twitter she posted: "Opposition leaders unite behind calls for the FULL implementation of the review recommendations, after months of unnecessary delay from the Government.
"Please take note and act for Primodos families."
