IT wouldn’t be Halloween without pumpkins and Smithills Open Farm is ensuring its customers are more than prepared ahead of the most spookiest of days.

The popular visitor attraction is gearing up for a brand new pumpkin pick, where families can select their favourite pumpkin for any themed nights they have planned.

The pumpkin pick will be running separate from regular farm activities - meaning visitors don’t need to visit the farm if they only want to do some picking.

New for this year, the pumpkins are priced at £5 and can be chosen on October 17 and 18 and from October 24 to 31.

Smithills Farm said: “Due to popular demand - pumpkin picking is here. “When we run special, seasonal activities you know we do them to our absolute best - expect no different with this.”

Wheelbarrows will be available for just that extra bit of fun.

The farm will be offering customers the chance to pick from countless of the orange delights, with the pick forming a part of their wider Halloween activities.

The half term Halloween fun will run from Saturday, October 24 through to Saturday, October 31and promises guests a “spooktacular time”.

The farm will be clad in Halloween decoration, while staff will be dressed in costumes.

There will also be a spooky woodland walk and sweet hunt along with fancy dress competitions.

The farm recently fully reopened following a long closure due to lockdown. Facemasks are mandatory and increased safety measures are in place.
