A historic staple of a Horwich park is back in all its glory.
The Loco Wheels in Old Station Park, Horwich, were pushed off their stand in early July by vandals, prompting them to be restored by the community.
The wheels, which have been at the entrance of the park for over 40 years, have been given a fresh lick of paint with its stand also cleared of debris.
Horwich Town Councillor, David Grant says it is fantastic to see the wheels back.
He said: "After a good few months it's fantastic to see the wheels back in their pride of place in Old Station Park.
"Being one of the 5 people who secured them when they were toppled it's amazing to see them looking so good after being restored by the teams at Bolton Council.
"Everyone in Horwich will be excited to see the wheels returned to their rightful place and to be enjoyed by residents old and new as the park and wider Town evolves around them."
The wheels were placed in Station Park at the time when Horwich Locoworks was winding down, and they are a reminder of Horwich’s industrial past.
