Christmas Collections
Not only do we love receiving presents, we love having an excuse to shop. Everyone knows about autumn/winter and spring/summer seasonal collections but what about the one in between - Christmas.
Most of the high street shops are celebrating this holiday and have brought out ranges to match.
These collections are mostly about it being the party season. Think pretty dresses, sparkly clutches and gorgeous jewels. It's more about dressing as your favourite screen siren than the fairy on top of the tree.
This box clutch is really unsual and you would be bard pressed to find one on the high street.
It's just £22 at ASOS.com and is perfect for those work nights out. One word of warning though! With a hard clutch there is little room for maneuver so you'll need to pack light.
If you fancy a change from black then why not go for brown and choose River Island's Christmas collection as your starting point.
This crepe paper effect dress has a great cut for all legs as it's slightly wider at the thigh. With the short sleeves it's not the most practical of dresses for winter, but when did we ever bother about practicality.
At £69.99 the price isn't something to shout about but you are getting this bejewelled belt with it. The shoes are £49.99 and again, open toes are not great - they will give you the old goosepimples.
I suggest wearing a skinny jumper underneath the dress and thick black tights to keep your tootsies warm.
The rest of the collection features party dresses alongside bustiers and skinny jeans for a rock 'ladylike' chic look.
Last stop is Dorothy Perkins' offering of a splash of colour in the form of this bubble dress at £40.
It is described as being grey but I think it has a purple hue to it which makes it look a bit different to the deep plums on the high street. The silver shoes are right on season and on price at £30. The bangle is cheap and cheerful at £8.
The rest of their collection focuses on party shoes and accessories.
Check out our Style Synopsis this week and next week for more on the accessories and shows to match your party dresses.
