A team competing in races across the country with restored classic vehicles have said they are delighted to be back and competing with success.

Daniel Parker and Mike Thompson competed in the first round of the coveted Porsche Boxster Cup at Snetterton race circuit on July 11, in Norwich, finishing third and second in the two races of the day.

The Boxster cup involves teams from across the country restoring old Porsche Boxster sports cars and racing them against others at different courses, including Silverstone.

Daniel and Mike prepare their vehicle at the Porsche Centre in Manchester Road, competing with the likes of Leeds, Wilmslow, and Bournemouth.

However, the coronavirus pandemic posed problems for the team this year.

Daniel Parker, who restores the vehicle for Mike Thompson to drive, said: "We did really well having the car ready on time due to the pandemic.

"We turned up with the hope of a victory as the car was ready and so was Mike. We had no time to test the car but what can I say we came home with trophy's.

"All round great result for Porsche centre Bolton as we move onto the next round."

The next race for the team will be at Oulton Park International Circuit in Cheshire on July 25.
