WE may be locked down but the people of Bolton can still chow down on the best food after a Farnworth restaurant was crowned the best place for takeaway food in the borough.

Royal Balti House was given the top spot in the takeaway category by food review site Restaurant Guru.

The restaurant posted the good news to their Facebook page, saying: “We are happy to inform you that Royal Balti House has got recognition as the Best Takeaway Food in Bolton 2020 by Restaurant Guru.”

The site, which compiles reviews posted to other places such as Google, Yelp, and Facebook, ranks restaurants in different categories, to help users find the best place for their tastes. Royal Balti House is also ranked as the best Indian restaurant in Bolton, and the third-best restaurant in Greater Manchester, behind Laco Cafe and Bistro in Stockport, and Flames Smokehouse in Failsworth.

In 2017, the popular eatery on Market Street bagged the Best Marketing Campaign accolade at the English Curry Awards. The restaurant had also been nominated for best restaurant in the North West. The business is open for collection and delivery 4-10pm Sunday to Thursday, and 4-11pm Fri-Saturday.
