Police are appealing for dashcam footage after a van was seen crashing into multiple cars.
A member of the public called officers after witnessing the crashes, following the van until a patrol arrived on scene.
The driver failed to stop for police, with officers pursuing the vehicle until it stopped on Spa Road.
Officers arrested the man yesterday afternoon on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol and driving while disqualified.
The man is alleged to have been almost four times the legal limit, with a roadside breathalyser reading of 134 against the legal limit of 35mg per 100ml of breath.
Owners of the cars struck by the van are being contacted.
Officers have urged anyone with dashcam footage of the incidents, believed to have taken place in the afteroon of Friday, April 10, to email 12136@gmp.police.uk.
