A CLEANING product manufacturer has thanked its staff for helping fight the coronavirus outbreak.
Dr Beckmann, which is part of the ACDOCO family firm, whose main production facility is in Astley Bridge, praised its employees for working around the clock to meet the UK's surging demand for anti-bacterial household products.
The Covid-19 pandemic has seen more and more people staying at home and self-isolating — with the need to keep their houses extra clean also becoming more and more vital.
In response Dr Beckmann says its Bolton staff have been "pulling out all the stops" to meet the unprecedented levels of demand — including working extra shifts and overtime.
Susan Fermor, of Dr Beckmann, said: “I would like to say a huge thank you to all our staff for pulling together and working so hard to ensure production meets demand. Everyone here is absolutely committed to filling supermarket shelves and our staff have been incredibly generous with their time, working extra hours to make that happen.”
In the last 10 days, Dr Beckmann says demand for its products has grown by more than 50 per cent, and it expects this to increase even further over the coming fortnight.
Surging demand for cleaning solutions has meant some retailers have even contacted Dr Beckmann directly to seek extra stock – a move unheard of previously, the firm says.
