BOLTON lass Keeley Orrell is in training to be a real life Mary Poppins — and could even become a nanny to a royal baby.

The former St James CE High School pupil is on her way to the prestigious Norland College in Bath with Norland Nannies often being chosen to look after children of the rich and famous, including being hired to care for young royals.

Currently a student at Bury College, she was accepted at Norland College, an establishment famous for training an elite class of nannies— in a variety of skills including self-defence and driving skills.

Keeley said: “I am so happy that I have been offered a place at Norland College.

“This will be a brilliant opportunity for me to learn a range of new skills in areas such as cooking, sewing and self-defence.”

Keeley, who is currently studying Level 3 childcare, believes that the training she has received at Bury College has prepared her for the Early Years Development and Learning BA (Hons).

She added: “I have really enjoyed my time at Bury College.

“I have had lots of great work experience placements including working in nursery and primary schools which has really helped with my confidence.”

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge chose a Norland College trained nanny to look after their three little ones.

Norland nannies are qualified Early Years professionals who are responsible for the care, wellbeing and education of the children in their care.

They are responsible for all nursery duties, which includes cooking, cleaning and laundry, but only for the children, say the college. Known for their distinctive Edwardian-style brown uniform, they were featured in a fly on the wall ITV documentary back in 2014.
