NEW breast screening equipment is being installed at the Royal Bolton Hospital.
Satellite units at Rochdale, Radcliffe and Bolton One are also receiving new equipment. This will replace and upgrade old kit, which is over ten years old.
The first centre to get the makeover will be Rochdale, where a grant of £270k has been awarded by NHS Improvement.
Tina Summersgill is manager of the Bolton, Bury and Rochdale Breast Screening Programme, provided by Bolton NHS Foundation Trust.
She said: “Having new up to date equipment will really help towards delivering the high standard of service we provide to all our population.
"Recent equipment breakdowns at our satellite sites has put extreme pressures on the service, going forward this will be a much welcomed improvement for both patients and staff.”
