HORWICH RMI Harriers under-13s boys starred at the first meeting of the Indoor Sportshall season at Blackpool.
They overcame the significant challenge from bigger clubs such as Blackpool and Preston to win their age group.
Horwich finished third overall combined team and Martha Gill produced the best all round performance to win the Athlete of the Match award for under-11s girls.
Lisa and Guy Heyes made it a family double as both finished third in their respective categories in last Sunday's 24th Through The Villages road race.
Despite still suffering from a groin strain, Lisa ran well to finish third lady and second over-35, just a minute behind second-placed Yvonne Wyke of Wigan.
The Horwich veterans performed well, with Paul Muller showing his class as he finished sixth overall and was first veteran and first over-50 runner.
Rob Jackson ran well to finish seventh overall and first over-40 runner, and Steve Nolan finished 14th and first over-45 to complete the trio of Horwich runners who won the veteran team event. Derek Kay was a well deserved second over-60.
