A SUCCESSFUL Bolton marketeer who has made her reputation organising events like the Manchester Fashion Festival has launched her own PR business.
Lisa Forshaw jointly ran Real PR with Laura Stubbs after they started the company in 2017. The two friends got together in the wake of the Arena bombing after top Manchester fashion designer Zaynep Kartal wanted to put on a fundraising event for victims and families and needed help.
The success of this prompted them to start their own company, running other events and representing companies like hair and beauty experts House of Evelyn as well as celebrities including cast members from Hollyoaks and Coronation Street.
One of their biggest events has been the Manchester Fashion Festival with their latest held last month. This popular event has brought regional designers and celebrities together at top city venues like the Hilton Hotel.
Now, though, after deciding to pursue separate interests, Lisa and Laura have gone their own ways amicably and are still working together on specific projects. Lisa decided to launch Lisa Forshaw PR in her home town as well as working with clients further afield around Greater Manchester.
“I love helping businesses and individuals with their events and improving their profile,” she explained, “and I wanted to work here in my home town to support Bolton as well.”
Through her husband Lyndon’s company, The Forshaw Land and Development Group which is involved in town centre development plans, Lisa is well aware that Bolton is enjoying a major boost and changing dramatically. “I’m really pleased that so much is happening now in Bolton and I wanted to be part of this and to help bring back the buzz,” she added.
One of Lisa’s first plans is to bring the successful fashion festival format to the town. Her new company will now be staging the Bolton Fashion Festival at the University of Bolton Stadium’s Premier Suite on Friday, March 27 with the MCR fashion festival team Laura Stubbs and Rob Stubbs.
“I’m really excited about what the future holds,” she added. “I love working with people and businesses and making a difference and I feel that there is so much value I can add to them.”
