And for those that haven't started on this year's creation yet, here's some top tips:
1. Use a template to perfect your design
There are loads to choose from online.
Once you've picked the one you like, secure it to the front of your pumpkin and then trace the image by poking holes along the lines.
2. Cut from the bottom, not the top
Cutting your 'lid' from the bottom of the pumpkin helps prevent the sides from caving in later.
If you do carve from the top, cut out the lid on an angle.
This way it won't drop inside the pumpkin when you replace it.
3. Try shaving parts of your pumpkin rather than cutting all the way through
This will give your design a two-tone effect and add depth.
4. Put the knife down and consider paint instead
If you want to keep small hands away from sharp objects, painting your pumpkin might be a much better option and can still look really effective.
5. Try a different lighting option
Replace the candle in your pumpkin with Christmas fairy lights or maybe a flashing bike light
