PLANS to convert a former mill into a community worship and education facility have been approved.
The vacant St Pauls Mill, in Barbara Street will be used by Ghosia Mosque.
The mosque wants to create a number of new dedicated classrooms, moving the existing educational element, known as a Madrassa, to another part of the building.

There will also be toilet facilities and two offices.
Plans to change the use of a unit in another part of the site as a Madrassa were approved in August 2012 but were not implemented.
This included creating classrooms, a library, office, meeting room, quiet study and a storage room.

It is set to be open between the hours of 5pm and 7pm during the week.
The proposals were approved by planning officers with a number of conditions including no weekend or bank holiday opening.
A planning officer said: "The proposal is considered to comply with the aforementioned policies. Therefore, the application is recommended for approval subject to planning condition."
