TWO adventurous parishioners are set to cycle up hill and down dale to help young people enjoy fun in the great outdoors.
Simon and Maria Wilson have undertaken an intrepid 200-mile sponsored bike ride from St James' Church in Roscow Avenue, Breightmet, to Marrick Priory and outdoor education and residential centre at the site of a former nunnery in North Yorkshire, and back.
All funds raised by the duo will go to the Carol Lambert Holiday Project to provide outdoor pursuits weekends for youngsters in Breightmet who have limited opportunities to access such experiences due to their circumstances.
The pair are due to complete their ride on Sunday, returning via Holme in Cumbria and Carnforth in Lancashire. Anyone wishing to sponsor them can call Rev. Viv Masters on 01204 385981.
