ALMOST 2,000 people braved the rain for the second annual Rivington Music
Festival.
Seven bands took to the stage at Rivington Terraced Gardens for the day-long event.
Proceedings opened with a funk and reggae section; including performances by The Evil Stepsisters, Magari, Cousin Avi and Jeramiah Ferrari.
Then in the evening, it became a rockier affair, with Total Victory, The Attic Doctors and Good Foxy all delivering blistering sets.
Project manager Andrew Suter was delighted with how the day went.
He said: “It was absolutely brilliant.
“The weather was a little bit iffy. There were a few showers until 1pm and I think a few people got a little bit wet on the way up but it eventually cleared.
“We’re actually in discussions to make it a two-day event next year with two stages.”
“It helped raise funds for the trust and I think we’ve managed to raise in the region of £10,000, which is fantastic.”
One festivalgoer added: “It has been a very good day.
“The weather has been very changeable, it’s been rainy and muddy, then sunny, then rainy again and so on.
“There have been some very good bands on though.”
