STUDENTS from Bolton Muslim Girls School celebrated a successful GCSE results day this year.
The school, in Swan Lane, registered some of its best results so far, with five per cent of all grades falling in the highest band, 9, and 20 percent coming in at an 8 or higher.
Some of the highest achievers included Fatimah Ismail, Fize Riaz, Faatimah Youssouf and Amira Abdi.
Helen Andiyapan, deputy headteacher, said: “We are so proud of every one of our learners. The results across all subjects have been fantastic and are a testament to the team work, hard work and perseverance of our learners, parents, staff and governors. There was a real buzz of excitement as learners opened their envelopes this morning. It was heartening to see so many smiling faces of our successful young women.”
