MEMBERS of the community are rallying together behind a campaign to stop 1,036 houses and a Ryder Cup golf course being built at Hulton Park.
Acoustic guitar group, Travellin' Strings, will be performing at a fundraising event tonight at Over Hulton Conservative Club.
As well as a musical performance, there will be a quiz at the event which starts at around 7.30pm and costs £5 on the door.
The Hulton Arms will be holding its next fundraising quiz on July 31 at 8pm.
Sandra Hesketh, secretary of HEART, said: "It's absolutely wonderful how a community comes together when faced with such a huge threat.
"I've never felt, in my life, such a strong sense of community."
The campaign group will be fundraising from a stall at a Over Hulton Community Group event to be held at the Newbrook Precinct on Saturday.
A public inquiry into Peel's plans will be held on October 1.
