SUMMER is the season of garden parties and on Sunday hundreds are expected to attend such an event in the grounds of one of Bolton's historic halls.
Smithills Garden Party, a hugely popular event on the town's social calender, returns this weekend.
Organisers have promised a fun afternoon lies in store for visitors.
Attractions on the day include circus skills workshops, craft and food stalls, magic shows, live music, donkey rides, facepainting, story telling and lots more.
The garden party runs from noon until 4pm.
And whatever the weather, the event is a huge hit, attracting more than 1,000 people at previous events.
The garden party also serves as a showcase for local crafters, who sell their wares at the event.
Entry to the event is free.
As well as the garden party the hall has organised child friendly activities for the school holidays .
