MOUNTAIN rescuers have been rewarded for their efforts after protecting athletes running in a popular race.
Bolton Mountain Rescue Team (MRT) helped to provide safety cover for this year's Reservoir Challenge in Edgworth on Sunday, June 9.
After helping with the event, two members of the team - John Dickinson and Chris Greenhalgh - were handed a cheque for £1,100 by the races' directors Michelle Ludwig & Tracy Gee.
Money was also raised for the Martin Hibbert Charity Foundation, set up in the name of a man who was left paralysed after the Manchester Arena terror attack.
The Reservoir Challenge is organised by Enriched Event.
