POLICE have launched an internal investigation after a mum-of-two was found dead at her home.
Regan Tierney, 27, was discovered dead at her Walkden home in the early hours of June 5. Police were responding to concerns for a woman's welfare when they attended the Manchester Road property.
A man in his 30s was also found injured at the scene and was taken to hospital but died two days later.
A murder investigation is ongoing, however police say they are not looking for anyone else in connection with Ms Tierney's death.
Now, Greater Manchester Police have confirmed they are launching an internal investigation into the case because of previous contact with officers.
A GP spokesman said: "It has been referred to GMP’s professional standards branch in line with policy due to previous contact."
The professional standards branch look at cases to see if they need to be investigated and if so, report findings.
The family of Regan paid tribute to her in a statement, saying: “She was a loving mum who loved family life."
