A LITTER picking group is seeking help as it prepares to carry out a major clean-up of a fly tipping hotspot.
The Litter Pickers of North Bolton will be cleaning an area next to the River Croal, off Croal Street, on Sunday, June 30.
Jeanette Holland, from the group, said: “It is a shocking problem, we have done the site a few times before and it has to be seen to be believed.
“It has built up over the years. People are throwing their bin bags over.
"We do not want to live in this environment, it is shameful.
“We want to show that this is not acceptable and bring pride back into Bolton."
The litter picking group, which is made up of volunteers, was set up about four years ago and carries out clean-ups on a weekly basis.
Anyone able to lend a hand at the end of the month should meet at Queens Park car park, in Spa Road, at 10am.
Litter pickers, bags and safety equipment will be provided, although volunteers are asked to wear sturdy footwear.
