A NEW health and beauty store is set to open in Bolton this summer.
Superdrug will be the latest addition to Middlebrook Retail and Leisure Park.
The retailer, which already has a store in Bolton town centre, will be coming to Horwich at the beginning of August.
A spokesman for Superdrug said: “We are delighted to welcome customers to our new store in Bolton as well as our current store located within the town centre.
"Customers will be able to choose from our unique mix of health and beauty which features a wealth of vegan and cruelty-free beauty options, as well as all the biggest brands at amazing prices.
"We will confirm more details of the store closer to the opening day.”
Superdrug will be moving in to a unit located between Sports Direct and Specsavers.
The unit was previously occupied by Poundworld which fell into administration last summer resulting in the closure of all 335 of its stores.
The Middlebrook store was the first in the borough marked for closure after it featured on an initial list of 25 stores set to shut which was revealed by administrators last July.
A further two closures were announced days later as town centre and Breightmet stores also ceased trading during the summer.
Superdrug is the second largest beauty and health retailer in the country, behind Boots.
It currently operates approximately 800 stores across England, Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland and the Republic of Island. Around 200 of them have in-store pharmacies.
Middlebrook, the UK's largest retail and leisure park, opened in the 1990s.
By 2006, there were 50 retail units at the 200-acre park as well as 27 corporate businesses, commercial office accommodation and residential areas.
Superdrug Store PLC has applied to install new signs above the empty unit at the retail park in The Linkway.
Town hall officers at Bolton Council are due to decide the outcome of the planning application by mid-July.
