POLICE stopped a shoplifter who turned out to be wanted on a European arrest warrant.
The man was caught by Greater Manchester Police CSO Richmond at Burnden Park Shopping Centre off Manchester Road on Saturday evening.
The man was stopped by PCSO Richmond for shoplifting and made to pay for his items however, when officers checked the details of the silver Nissan he was in they discovered it was not insured in his name.
Greater Manchester Police went on to make further checks into the man and discovered he was wanted internationally on a European arrest warrant.
Bolton South police officers posted about their success on Facebook and were congratulated by members of the public for doing good work.
