STAR of stage and screen Amy Nuttall will be stepping aside to make way for her mum in a new all singing and dancing adaptation of My Fair Lady at Bolton's Albert Halls.
Elaine Nuttall will be starring as Mrs Higgins in the show of the hit musical in which her daughter took centre stage as Eliza in a professional touring production in 2005.
Farnworth Performing Arts Company will be bringing the musical; to the stage, which is currently back on Broadway , starring Harry Haddon-Paton, who starred alongside Amy in Downtown Abbey.
Sandra Blyth, production co-ordinator for the theatre company, said: "Playing the Professor and Eliza are John Preston and Sophie Lord.
"John previously appeared in My Fair Lady at the Albert Halls — several years ago — playing the part of Freddy Eynsford Hill and Sophie last played Eliza at the tender age of 14 in a junior presentation of the show. Colin Dean, a long standing member of Farnworth Performing Arts, will be playing the part of Colonel Pickering.
"Elaine Nuttall is thrilled to be playing the part of Mr. Higgins.
"The show holds a very special place for Elaine as her daughter played the part of Eliza at the Palace Theatre Manchester in the professional touring production of My Fair Lady.
"The production will feature a full orchestra, wonderful costumes and sets that will transport the audience back to the London of 1912."
The show would not be complete without the songs including I Could Have Danced All Night, On the Street Where You Live, The Rain in Spain and I’m Getting Married in the Morning, making up some of the most well-known in musical theatre history.
The production runs from April 10 to April 13, showing at 7.30pm with a matinee performance on April 13 at 2.30pm.
