IT will be lights, camera, action at a Bolton cafe as the popular eatery becomes the set for a new prime time TV show.
Odessa in Exchange Square will feature in Years & Years, an upcoming six-part BBC One drama, and is to close tomorrow afternoon for filming.
The show — written by Russel T Davies the brain behind Queer As Folk, and writer of Doctor Who and Torchwood — follows the lives of the Lyons family from Manchester over 15 years as they face political, economic and technological advances.
In the world of Years & Years, as society gets hotter, faster and madder; with Britain leaving Europe, American becoming a lone wolf and China asserting dominance; one MP is rising to take advantage.
Vivienne Rook is a new breed of politician, leading the world into an unknown future, one which the Lyons are navigating with their everyday hopes and fears.
Emma Thompson will lead the cast as Vivienne Rook, with Jessica Hynes, Rory Kinnear, Ruth Madeley, T’Nia Miller, Anne Reid and Russell Tovey appearing as the Lyons family.
There is no confirmed release date for the series yet, but creators have said that filming is well underway.
Years and Years will be coming to BBC One in Spring
