A CARE firm which looks after older people has committed to supplying a 'real living wage' to its staff.
Home Instead Senior Care will pay a Real Living Wage of £9 an hour, rather than the £8.21 national living wage which is the legal minimum set by the government.
The new wage is calculated based on the cost of a basket of everyday goods.
Steve Williams, co-owner of Home Instead Bolton, said: “This is a fantastic milestone in our mission to be the employer of choice and the best home care company across Bolton. We couldn’t provide the quality care that we do without our fantastic team."
He added: “As well as it being the right thing to do, there is a growing body of evidence demonstrating the business benefits of becoming a Real Living Wage employer.
"We hope as a result we will continue to attract and retain the best and most motivated people.”
