A TOWN centre fish and chip spot is welcoming its second session of jazz music.
Jazz at the Olympus Restaurant is returning with another offering of international tunes after a successful Christmas special show featuring well-loved local band, the Alan Taylor Quartet.
The surprising jazz shows have been organised in partnership with Live from Worktown — a community-led organisation dedicated to bringing art and culture into Bolton.
Promoter Dave Walton said: "It's a bit of a punt doing a jazz night in a fish shop but it really worked well."
Mr Walton added: "We did a one-off Christmas special and we had a tremendous response. We had over 100 people.
"If this gets a good response, we'll plan a monthly programme that runs to the end of the year."
The next jazz night, a Mardi Gras special, is coming to Olympus this Sunday.
Popular Latin band, Cuba Vida, will be bringing tropical tunes all the way from Rio and Havana to the stage in Bolton. The group is led by the charismatic Jesus Moreau Batallan, with Enrico Marchesi on flugelhorn and Pete Williams on percussion.
Mr Walton said: "They're very upbeat and very uplifting. They'll get everyone on their feet.
"Where else would you want to be on a Sunday night!"
Doors open at 7.15pm and the first set is scheduled for 8pm.
Advance tickets are available at £8 from the restaurant or online from www.livefromworktown.org. Tickets on the door are £10. All tickets include a fresh pasty.
