SUPPORTERS of Bolton Wanderers are planning a mass protest at the televised home game against West Brom on January 21.

A statement released by some of the leading online communities yesterday called for action from fans in response to “mismanagement of the club” by chairman and owner, Ken Anderson.

Sky Sports will be televising the West Brom game, which kicks-off on a Monday night, and there now appears a move for a demonstration to take place before, during and after kick-off at 8pm.

“The name of Bolton Wanderers has been dragged into the mud continuously in recent times,” a statement read. “This once proud football club has been subject to humiliation with winding up orders and failure to pay the wages of the players and staff.

“The lives of non-footballing staff, as well as those who have moved to Bolton on the pretence of a long-term career, have been messed about due the mismanagement of the club by Ken Anderson.

“Considering all of this, we feel as if there is no other option than to organise a protest before, during and after the game against WBA on Monday, January 21.

“In front of the Sky cameras, we need to voice our discontent.

“This is our football club and we shouldn’t stand idly by and watch it disappear.”
