A DAD from Bolton claims he was kidnapped at knifepoint just yards from a row of houses this morning.
Anthony Grime, 32, claims he was walking along Crescent Road shortly before 7am when a car pulled up on the kerb, blocking his path.
Mr Grime says a man then got out of the car and repeatedly demanded he get into the vehicle. He initially refused, but the man then returned to the car and came back with a knife, continuing to make demands.
Fearing for his life, Mr Grime says he then got into the car and was driven around the corner onto Green Lane, where he managed to escape and run home.
Mr Grime says he has reported the incident to the police. Greater Manchester Police have not yet responded to requests for comment.
The dad said: "Every morning, I take my daughter on a walk around the block. I set off this morning and because she has been ill I did not take her.
"I was walking up Green Lane and as I got towards Crescent Road this guy walked past with his hood up. I thought nothing of it at the time.

"Then as I got round the corner, the car pulled up on the kerb to stop me walking past.
"A man got out and starting asking where his mate was. He kept telling me to get in the car and I told him 'no'. He went back to his car and pulled out the large kitchen knife."
Mr Grime says the man who threatened him was in his 30s, of short but stocky build, and spoke in an Irish accent.

He believes he may have been the victim of mistaken identity, and that he had never met the man in his life.
"When I got into the car, he set off down Green Lane and he saw the other guy that had walked past," said Mr Grime. "He slammed the breaks and got out to get him.
"I went for the car door to get out and he tried to stab me.
"I did not know any of them. It seems like a case of mistaken identity because I had my hood up as well."
