POLICE officers were targeted by a group of youths in Horwich last night.
Officers took to social media last night to report that youngsters had shouted abuse and thrown food at them while they were on patrol in the town centre.
They added that a police vehicle was also spat on by members of the group.
The post from GMP Bolton North read: "This evening an incident occurred in Horwich Town centre whereby a group of local youths targeted local officers by shouting abuse, throwing food and spitting on a liveried Police vehicle.
"As parents, do you know what your child is getting up to while hanging about on the Streets? This sort of behavior will not be tolerated and those involved will be held accountable for their actions."
