The Trilby
Style icon Kate Moss has championed the trilby for years now but we can't seem to wash that trend out of our hair.
Bolton Boutique suggests you glam it up for an evening out with this red hat from Accessorize (£25). Its black bow trim keeps in the 21st century while the bold colour will transform any outfit. Just don't clash it with too much red - you're going for a subtle look remember, not Christmas tree decoration.
Skirts
Don't hiberate under your wollens just yet, try a skirt on those more cooler autumn days. Pleats, puffball and skater - they are everywhere. Wear this gold pleated one from Dorothy Perkins (£25) in the evening with heels and overflowing blouse or during the day with a plain shirt. You don't want to go over the top with satin so keep the material neutral and let the skirt shine.
1940s Style
Screen siren here you come with a sneak peak of the 1940s glamour that is hitting the high street this autumn.
Coats, skirts, heels and hats have all been transformed using the shapes of yester-year including these platforms from Beyond Retro (£28). Wear them with floaty dresses, waists nipped in of course, or under your high waisted flares.
Check back with Bolton Boutique as next week's Style Synopsis will put this tried and tested trend under the spotlight.
