A WOMAN was taken to hospital due to injuries sustained during a serious fall at her home.
Emergency services were called to a property in Grasmere Avenue, Little Lever, where a resident had fallen on the staircase.
Firefighters joined ambulance crews at about 1am on Monday to help manoeuvre the patient onto a stretcher so she could be taken to the Royal Bolton Hospital.
Crew manager Mark Hoare said: "The woman had fallen down the stairs.
"She had been there for an hour or so when we arrived.
"She was suffering with leg pain.
"We got her down onto a stretcher. She was taken to hospital."
