A MOTORCYCLIST was left with serious injuries after a crash in Bolton.
Police had closed Beaumont Road, the A58, in both directions at the junction with Wigan Road, the A676, between 10.45am and noon after the crash between the motorcyclist and a van.
Officers say the van pulled out in front of the motorcycle, causing the rider to sustain serious injuries, including a broken wrist and leg.
The van then made off from the scene in the direction of the M61.
Police say they are searching for the van, and have made an appeal for witnesses.
Traffic between the M61 and Bolton was affected by the incident.

Motorists were asked to use an alternative route while officers were on the scene.
Wigan Road was closed temporarily but has since been reopened.
