YOU really do forget what it used to be like eating out surrounded by smokers, don’t you?
But on a trip to a traditional area of Spain last week, it was brought home how far the UK has come in this way. Whenever we ate out, there were people lighting up on adjacent tables.
While I’m not completely anti-smoking, I always felt that smoke around food was a bad idea and welcomed the ban.
I know it’s cultural when you’re abroad, and that’s just life, but I was very grateful to set foot in Manchester and breathe some fresh air!
