WINNER of the SME Business of the Year Award, sponsored by Stateside Foods, certainly has designs on success.
Handrail Creations, based in Burden Business Park, just keep picking up awards at the prestigious ceremony.
The firm, which creates bespoke handrails and products for some of the most prestigious building projects in Europe, won Start-Up Business Award winner in 2015.
Handrail Creations design, manufacture and install hardwood handrails and balustrades for both residential and commercial projects.
It was started by managing director Kenny Macfarlane and his father, Martin.
Speaking to The Bolton News after being announced the winner, Kenny said: "I'm really genuinely surprised. This is our second year shortlisting and actually second year winning. It's more surprising than anything but it is a testament to the whole team. It means a lot."
He spoke about the company's investment young people, saying: "We have apprentices we are bringing through the ranks."
With the company's in house design studio, state-of-the art production facilities and install teams throughout the UK, the business' has worked on exciting developments including Google's new headquarters in London, the US Embassy, the Houses of Parliament and hundreds of luxury homes including a £250 million London property.
The company has grown year-on-year, recruiting enthusiastic and brilliant young engineers, designers and project managers.
The firm, now its in fifth year of business, uses the latest in technology, 3D scanners, CAD software and complex CNC machines to create bespoke handrails, at a fraction of the time it would take with traditional methods.
Over the last 12 months, Handrail Creations has made significant investment in both capital and people to take on more "interesting and challenging projects".
