WINE lovers will be treated to a new and improved backdrop as a refurbished bar and tasting room opens today.
Turton Wines, on Darwen Road, is built on the site of a former abattoir, which has been carefully updated and redecorated and its bar, The Slaughtered House, is named after the building's history.
Organisers are planning a series of launch events in the coming weeks, including wine and gin tastings in the lead up to Christmas, and say they have received a lot of interest.
The new venue will also be available for weddings, christenings, bar mitzvah, private hire and company parties.
The bar will be open from Monday to Friday, noon until 7pm, closing at 6pm on Saturdays and opening from 1.00pm until 5.30pm on a Sunday.
